Arduino makes me feel desperate. ūüôĀ

O.M.G. He…..lp……Me…….

Although the code I wrote was right, it still didn’t work. TAT. Mr. Arduino

Mr. Arduino!! Please tell me which part I made mistake.

Anyway, I used the MPR121 and firstly wanna touch certain thresholds to trigger the Servo Motor. For testing, I only turn on one threshold and use LED to replace the Motor. I get the code online and use Switch-Case to program. If the threshold is touched, the LED will turn on.

Now, the problem is I wrote¬†Serial.print within the¬†Switch-Case¬†and it could print “Kai” when I touched. But the LED can’t illuminate. So I think the code should work but actually it can’t….

Code (have higlighted the part I adjust.):

#include “mpr121.h”
#include <Wire.h>
#define ledPin 13

int irqpin = 2; // Digital 2
boolean touchStates[12]; //to keep track of the previous touch states

void setup(){
pinMode(irqpin, INPUT);
digitalWrite(irqpin, HIGH); //enable pullup resistor
pinMode(ledPin, OUTPUT);
digitalWrite( ledPin, LOW);

Serial.begin(9600);
Wire.begin();

mpr121_setup();
}

void loop(){
readTouchInputs();
}
void readTouchInputs(){
if(!checkInterrupt()){

//read the touch state from the MPR121
Wire.requestFrom(0x5A,2);

byte LSB = Wire.read();
byte MSB = Wire.read();

uint16_t touched = ((MSB << 8) | LSB); //16bits that make up the touch states
for (int i=0; i < 1; i++){ // Check what electrodes were pressed
if(touched & (1<<i)){

if(touchStates[i] == 0){
//pin i was just touched
Serial.print(“pin “);
Serial.print(i);
Serial.println(” was just touched”);

switch (i) {
case 0:
Serial.print(“Kai”);
digitalWrite( ledPin, HIGH);
break;
}

}else if(touchStates[i] == 1){
//pin i is still being touched
}

touchStates[i] = 1;
}else{
if(touchStates[i] == 1){
Serial.print(“pin “);
Serial.print(i);
Serial.println(” is no longer being touched”);

//pin i is no longer being touched
}

touchStates[i] = 0;
}

}

}
}
